Aldie Mansion

This magnificent Victorian mansion was built in 1927 by William and Martha Chapman. Their architect visited England to study Tudor manor houses. In 1941 at a famous Christmas Party, the Von Trapp family sang in the great hall. After Martha's death in 1960, the mansion was used as a seminary and drug rehabilitation center. After that it was vacant, vandalized, and burned, and slated for demolition. Thanks to the Heritage Conservancy this magnificent structure was saved and completely rehabilitated. Today it houses the Conservancy's offices and is rented for special events.

Upon entering the Christmas Gallery, you will be instantly transported to Dickens' London as you walk upon cobblestone streets, taking in the flavor of the old city. You can peer into shop windows and residences filled with Christmas displays, view a short film about the history of Byers' Choice in a theater reminiscent of Victorian England, and try on a top hat, scarf, muff or bonnet to have your picture taken on our street scene.
As you enter The Olde Curiosity Shoppe, the scale of the attractions change with hundreds of Carolers on display in heartwarming Victorian wintertime settings. Here Carolers can be seen completing their Christmas shopping, skating on a frozen mill pond and acting out holiday traditions from around the world.

Just outside the Christmas Gallery, visitors are treated to the fabulous new Winter Greene garden. Brick walkways meander through a secluded birch grove, which features copper-topped gas lanterns, a cascading fountain and abundant evergreens and flowering plants. Fonthill Museum

Henry Mercer (1856-1930) built Fonthill as his home between 1908 and 1912. The concrete castle boasts 44 rooms, 18 fireplaces and more than 200 windows of varying size and shape. The interior walls, floors and ceilings are elaborately adorned with an incredible array of Mercer's original handcrafted tiles.

Hortulus Farm Gardens is a hundred acre, 18th Century farmstead and nursery operation, situated amidst the beautiful, rolling hills of historic Bucks County, PA. Created and owned by world-famous garden and event designer Renny Reynolds and noted garden writer and author Jack Staub, Hortulus Farm Gardens has been called both “a garden of world-class charm” and “one of Pennsylvania’s hidden treasures”. In 2000, the Hortulus Farm Foundation was created to insure that this celebrated property will continue to exist as a public garden and horticultural study center in perpetuity. James A. Michener Art Museum

Housed within the massive stonewalls that were originally part of the Bucks County Jail, the James A. Michener Art Museum is dedicated to preserving, interpreting and exhibiting the art and cultural heritage of the Bucks County region. The Museum is named for Doylestown's most famous son, the Pulitzer-Prize winning writer and supporter of the arts. In addition to hosting changing exhibitions from around the country, the Michener Art Museum is home to the largest public collection of Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings.

This 1916 castle houses displays of the implements, folk art and furnishings of early America. Suspended overhead are a Conestoga wagon, whaling boats, carriages and antique fire engines. There are 50,000 tools representing more than 60 early American crafts and trades displayed.

Moravian Pottery and Tile Works

This National Historic Landmark is maintained as a working history museum by Pennsylvania's County of Bucks, Department of Parks and Recreation. Handmade tiles are still produced in a manner similar to that developed by the pottery's founder and builder, Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930). Mercer was a major proponent of the Arts & Crafts Movement in America.

Located in Richland, East Rockhill and West Rockhill Townships, in Upper Bucks County, Pa., Quakertown Swamp is a 518-acre wetland which is recognized as significant by the Pennsylvania Natural Diversity Inventory because it is a haven for a variety of wildlife species, including beaver and waterfowl. Ringing Rocks Park

This 128 acre park includes an amazing field of boulders which, when struck by a hammer or another rock, produce a hollow metallic ringing sound. The origin of the field is a mystery - neither glacial nor the result of a rock slide. Kids love visiting here. It's also the site of the largest waterfall in Bucks County.

Stover-Myers Mill, which comprises 26 acres along the Tohickon Creek in Bedmnster Township on Dark Hollow Road and the creek in Pipersville. Originally, this mill started as a water-powered gristmill/sawmill and was later powered by steam. Owned by Jacob Stover in the early 1800's, the Stover-Myers Mill produced flour and animal feed for regional and local consumption.

Washington Crossing Historic Park

Washington Crossing Historic Park was founded in 1917 to perpetuate and preserve the site from which the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River. This purpose is achieved by interpreting the historical significance of this site for thousands of Park visitors each year through tours, exhibits and various special events. The spirit of the 1776 Crossing is recreated every year on Christmas Day when the annual reenactment of Washington Crossing the Delaware takes place on December 25. In this annual reenactment the visitor can see reenactors in Continental military dress cross the river in the replica Durham boats.
